Urology OT Register
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 24, 2026
All patient data stays exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted to, stored on, or accessed by any external server or third party. No account is required.
1. Data collection and storage
The Urology OT Register is designed with your privacy and the confidentiality of your patients as its highest priority.
- No Cloud Storage: All data โ including patient information, operation records, OT schedules, DJ stent records, notes, and attached media โ is stored exclusively on your local device (iPhone or iPad).
- No Transmission: This information is never transmitted to, stored on, or accessed by any external server or third party. We do not have access to your records.
- No Account Required: The app does not require you to create an online account or provide any personal information to use any of its features.
2. Device permissions
The app may request the following permissions. All are optional and used solely to provide in-app functionality.
๐ท
Optional
Camera & Photo Library
To attach intraoperative photos or videos to case records. All media is stored locally on your device only.
๐
Optional
Calendar
To create DJ stent removal reminder events in your system calendar. Events are saved on your device only โ never on our servers.
โ
Optional
Apple Watch
A summary of your OT schedule and stent data is shared with the companion Watch app via Apple WatchConnectivity. This is peer-to-peer between your iPhone and Watch โ no internet or external servers involved.
๐ฌ
Optional
Messages (SMS)
The app can open your Messages app pre-filled with a stent removal reminder. No message is sent automatically โ you review and send it yourself.
๐
Optional
Face ID / Touch ID
Used locally on your device to lock individual records or the entire app. No biometric data is collected or stored by the app.
๐
Optional
Notifications
Used to deliver local stent removal reminders. No notification content is sent to any server. All scheduling is on-device.
3. Apple Watch companion app
The optional companion Watch app displays a read-only summary of your today's OT list and upcoming DJ stent removals. Data is synced directly from your iPhone to your Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework โ a peer-to-peer, encrypted, local channel that does not involve the internet or any external server. The ability to mark a stent as removed from the Watch is queued locally and applied to the iPhone when next available.
4. Home screen widget & Siri shortcuts
The app provides a home screen widget and Siri shortcuts that display summary counts (pending stents, today's surgery count). This data is written to a shared App Group container on your device โ it does not leave your device and is not accessible by any third party.
5. Data responsibility
You are solely responsible for the data you enter and store within the app. Because all data is stored locally, you are also responsible for securing your device against unauthorized access. We strongly recommend using a strong passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
6. Data backup and deletion
- Backup: Backups of your app data are managed through your standard device backup procedures (e.g., iCloud Backup or iTunes). We do not control this process.
- Deletion: If you delete the app from your device, all associated data stored within it will be permanently deleted.
7. Analytics
The app does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. No usage data or crash reports are collected.
8. Children's privacy
This app is intended for qualified medical professionals only and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any revisions.
